Tic Tac Rogue is an indie roguelite game where classic DnD mechanics meet tactical grid combat. Play adventure mode and discover classic foes brought to life in a cute and funny pixel art style. Roll a D20 to attack, and place your moves on a tic-tac-toe board. Choose from three iconic classes and dive into an adventure filled with dice rolls, tactical placement, and evolving gear. Defeat waves of goblins and orcs, earn gold, and unlock unique magic items that reshape your strategy with every run.

Features:

  • Choose from one of 3 classes available at launch, with more on the way.
  • Roll a D20 to beat enemy AC and claim your spot on the board.
  • Battle through escalating fights against goblins, orcs, and other classic foes.
  • Discover, loot, or buy Magic Items that give unique abilities.
  • Endless Mode: Unlock infinite battles after beating the boss - how long can you survive?

Classic mode

  • Need a break from dice rolls and dungeon crawls? Classic Mode lets you play traditional tic-tac-toe with a friend (local 2-player) or against the AI - no magic items, just pure grid mastery.

Early Access

  • Tic Tac Rogue is launching in Early Access to grow with its players. Your feedback will help shape new classes, items, enemies, and more. The core loop is already playable and polished - now it’s time to expand the world together.

About the developer

  • Created entirely by a solo developer, Tic Tac Rogue is a labor of love built from scratch with 100% NO AI-generated assets.

Great game but I do have one question.

is wizard supposed to be so underpowered? wizard's upcoming ability better be strong if not. (I was thinking wizard should be able to get one temporary effect every turn like:  have an ac boost of +4 for one turn or to get +2 on his rolls this turn, maybe even special wizard items that change the effects, but that's just a suggestion.)

Looking forward to what this game will bring next

Thanks for your interest and input! The wizard is intended to be a low health but high damage character, so the initial idea on his ability currently is casting a fireball that can destroy a piece on the board.

I have to say that was Amazing, I really enjoyed playing. Well put together. Very entertaining game!

Wow thank you so much for the kind words!

I am really enjoying this game, I have a question: Does the wave reset to lv 1 after a few time defeating the boss? Noticed Endless Vampire and wave 1 after second defeat of the Dragon Boss.

Beat the endless dragon when it had 25AC using the Warrior,  Play in Browser mode and the screen went black.

Hmm, I'm having trouble duplicating this bug. If you'd like, you can email over some more specific info at dev@pixelflightgames.com to log the bug report. I know you said you're playing in browser mode, but are you playing on a phone or pc? When the screen went black could you still hear sounds/music? There is an autosave function, if you reload and hit continue run, did it take you back one wave to the boss fight, or did it load the next stage correctly? If you'd like to email this info and anything else you think could help, I'll take a closer look! I'm glad you're enjoying it, and thanks for helping to make the game better!

Yes, this is intentional. If you go into endless multiple times, the waves keep resetting after beating the boss, but the ACs keep increasing. This will probably be more evident when there are more bosses added.

I thought so, figured the wave reset, was by design.  The black screen problem has only happened once, and I was using firefox when that happened. I have not seen a repeat using other browsers. I personally don't use Chrome browser.
